The goal of the USJETAA Japanese Reading Group is to help advanced, beginner and intermediate level learners improve their reading skills. Each month we discuss a short reading from Aozora Bunko, a repository of public domain literature. Participants should attempt to do the reading on their own and bring questions to the group.
We gather online and read the assignment sentence by sentence to understand how the Japanese is working. Registration is free, but we always appreciate donations to support these types of programs.
You can post questions and receive the reading link early each month in the USJETAA Japanese Reading Group Facebook Group.
In August, we'll read 朝飯 (Breakfast) by Shimazaki Toson. We'll aim to read the entire piece, but may only get through half or three quarters.
The Japanese Reading Group is meeting on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 8am JT. Not in Japan? See times listed below or find your time zone.
