The goal of the USJETAA Japanese Reading Group is to help advanced, beginner and intermediate level learners improve their reading skills. Each month we discuss a short reading from Aozora Bunko, a repository of public domain literature. Participants should attempt to do the reading on their own and bring questions to the group.

We gather online and read the assignment sentence by sentence to understand how the Japanese is working. Registration is free, but we always appreciate donations to support these types of programs. 

You can post questions and receive the reading link early each month in the USJETAA Japanese Reading Group Facebook Group.

In October, we will read the story ある男と牛の話 (The Story of a Man and the Cow) by Ogawa Mimei, a famous children's story writer. The reading includes furigana for all kanji and should be relatively straightforward, so hopefully students of all levels can join!
